Teen DBT Group

What is DBT:

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based treatment that focuses on building skills to help individuals manage intense emotions.

DBT is broken down into 4 modules:

  • Mindfulness Module

  • Distress Tolerance

  • Emotion Regulation

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

Throughout these modules, your teen will build new skills that will help them make more mindful decisions, increase distress tolerance, decrease impulsive or self-destructive behaviors, and increase feelings of self-trust and confidence. Your teen will learn effective ways to seek support and engage in healthy and satisfying relationships with others.

Who is the Teen DBT Group For:

This group is for teens 14-16 years old.

An individual intake session is required in order to join the group. The intake session is $50. This ensures that I am aware of specific needs and goals of each member, and can tailor the curriculum to these goals so each teen is getting the support they need.

During this 16 week group, your teen will engage in learning DBT skills from the four modules, participate in group activities and discussion, and engage in skills practice.

Parents are provided a skills handout after every session with a brief overview of skills learned, how your teen can implement them, and how your teen can be supported at home.
